Northeastern Academy is located in the Inwood section of Manhattan bordering Riverdale and the Bronx. The population of the student body represents the African, Caribbean, African American and Latino cultures which gives us a rich global perspective.
Curriculum:
The Academic program is organized on an A/B block schedule. Eight (8) credits per semester is the maximum course load. Students take four 80 minute classes per day. Block classes meet every other day. Block scheduling was instituted in 1999.
School Choir:
Given the rich history of 80+ years, The Northeastern Academy Choir remains true to the main emphasis of the choir program which focuses on musicianship and ministry, followed meticulously by citizenship, tradition, morale, and the spirit of God.
Under the elite direction of Mr. Antonie Brady, the Northeastern Academy Choir has developed a repertoire of choral music which ranges from classical and gospel genres as well as Negro spirituals. The Northeastern Academy Choir has contributed to society via mission trips and community partnerships to inspire others through song. In 2016, the choir was blessed with the opportunity to open up for the world renowned Aeolians of Oakwood University.
